Time-Lapse App Reviews

55 Customer Reviews:

I bought this app to try it out and was pleasently surprised until I looked at the exported videos. Unfortunately the video does not look very smooth. My comparision level is LRtimelapse Slideshow themes for Lightroom which create much smoother video results. I would be great if the author of this app can optimize his routines to generate the video.

Unstable, works sometimes, but mostly doesnt. Video output is jerky when it works. Codec H264 creates a file which QuickTime Player doesnt understand. Codec MP4 / Norm creates a black blank video. Its also slow, 36 frames take 1.5 mins.

But it skews photos and does not keep dimensional proportion. Its not easy to use. You should be able to custom crop each photo. Wish I could get my money back!

Honestly, this timelapse program is terrible, it rarely does a good job in stiching the photos together. The movies it creates are always incredibly JUMPY and not at all smooth!! Overall it does not do its job very well, please fix it!! (NOT WORTH THE MONEY)

The program use to work, for some reason now the videos being outputted are really glitchy and not smooth. I am fairly experinced with taking timlapse videos and compliing them. Also on a new macbook pro, so hardwear isnt an issue. Anyways, Time_lapse use to work but is not longer for me.

This app does NOT work! I tried multiple times to use this. The first few times it errored out and didnt even complete creating the video. After multiple tries it finally ran all the way through and "created" the video, however when I played it back it was a 5 sec video of black. NOTHING! I want my $2 back!

Used 279 images to create a movie. Tried it 5 different times with different FPS and qualities and worked perfectly each time. I think I would like to have some transition options. Maybe fade in/out? S. Royce

This is a great little app! I was trying to create timelapse movies using iMovies Add Photos… option, but it just wasnt built to process the thousands of photos I was trying to import for my little movie. Time-Lapse was able to handle 10,000 jpgs with ease. It takes some time to process that many images (~45 minutes at 1080p on my MacBook Pro i7 2.2gHz), but once Time-Lapse generated my .mov file, I imported it into iMovie and was off and running with my project. Highly recommended.

Ive been frustrated with the lack of image sequencing options in the versions of quicktime since 7, but recently even quicktime 7 pro wasnt able to compile timelapse video for me. Next I went to Picasa and that returned errors. This program is the only compact program that I have found recently that is able to compile a sequence from the images captured using a GoPro camera without adding the step of compressing or cropping the images first. Glad to have a new solution for creating timelapse video before opening up an editing program.

I keep getting "Create movie error" after multiple attempts. tried clicking to "time lapse support" and there is no support, just their website for astronomy software. FAIL!

I really like this app. Its really easy to use, fast, and simple. It is perfect for taking images that I have captured with my camera (and shutter timer) and converting them to cool time lapse movies. There is only one feature that I would really like for it to have: image alignment/stabilization (to compensate for small movements of my tripod from wind/etc). Fortuantly I can do that with iMovie.

I agree with the other very positive comments—this app worked great for me and I had no issues with it crashing. I loaded up 2000 JPEGs (1600x1200) and it created the timelapse without a hitch. Very useful and well worth the $$.

Does not work

Tried multiple times to create a video. It generates a preview of an image but the video itself is black. Dont buy :(

Very nice app

Very nice app for converting a directory full of jpeg files into a video. It keeps things simple and gets the job done. Definitely worth the money.

Cheap and works great. Copy and paste a group of photos into the app, select the codec and frame-rate and before you know it, you have an amazing time lapse. Even the quality of the video looks awesome in Quicktime player. Its just a very simple program :)

surprising

Surprisingly happy with this app. Does what it says it should quickly, and at the resolution I chose. Saved me some time in other apps. Thanks.
